The #6000 grit stone is a universal finishing stone for Japanese knives. The finer the grit, the slower it wears down, meaning this stone will last exceptionally long—you will likely never need to buy another of this grit. The finish achieved is known as "mirror polish," giving knives a dazzling sharpness that leaves users in awe. This stone is recommended for sharpening all Japanese knives and is essential for traditional sushi knives like Yanagiba and Deba.

Key characteristics:

  • Efficiency – quickly and precisely removes steel alloys

  • Durability – slow wear with minimal deformation

  • Quality – consistent and high-quality results with every use

Among all manufacturers, SHAPTON stones have proven to be the best in these aspects. They allow easy and fast sharpening of both hard Japanese steels and softer ones, such as German steels. SHAPTON stones retain their shape and wear down slowly, which is crucial for excellent results and user satisfaction. Although thinner than stones from other manufacturers, their lifespan is significantly longer. According to our loyal customers, knives sharpened on these stones maintain superior sharpness and durability.

Material: ceramic / tempered glass
Dimensions: 210 mm x 70 mm

Place the stone on a stand or raised surface to allow free hand movements. SHAPTON Pro stones use "splash & go" technology, meaning they do not require pre-soaking—simply wet the stone, and it's ready to use. During sharpening, add water as needed.

After use, rinse the stone under a stream of cold water—do not use a sponge or detergent. Place it upright to let the water drain. Do not dry it with a cloth—allow it to air dry naturally.

Since the stone is fragile, store it carefully to prevent damage from falls.
